8th June 2018
We are pleased to announce that our new school uniform is ready to be ordered. School uniform with the new school logo can only be purchased from our new suppliers schoolshop online or at their shop which is based in Elvington.
It is not compulsory for all children to wear the new school uniform in September. There are still some sizes available of the uniform with the old logo and this can still be bought from the school office and worn by children in years 1 – 6.
We have had a good old sort out of lost property on Friday and many items were collected and returned to their rightful owners! However, we still have a huge pile of unclaimed school uniform without names and other items of clothing and equipment.
We will hold these items until Friday 15th June and then dispose of them to a charity clothing bank.
A polite reminder to all parents that parent pay is also going to be used as our text messaging service and this requires everybody to add their mobile telephone number to their child’s account. Unfortunately, we are aware that some parents have had a few difficulties but Mrs Reynolds and Mrs Yeomans have now mastered this and are more than happy to help those that are still struggling.
Hopefully, most people are visiting the new website regularly to check updates. Subscribing to the website will ensure that you are notified when the newsletter or school letters are added.

Walk to school week
The 18th – 22nd June is walk to school week and we will be encouraging everybody to leave their cars at home and cycle, scoot or walk to school. Also, Thursday 21st June is ‘National Clean Air Day’ and the children will be learning about this during this weeks assemblies.
The Countryside Day
On Tuesday 5th June, Team Maple, Team Beech and Team Hazel had the opportunity to visit the countryside day at the showground in Harrogate. The children were able to experience a range of countryside crafts such as ropemaking, weaving, bread making and also experience new and exciting skills such as fossil hunting.
The children also loved to see the farm animals, gun dogs and birds of prey. One or two wanted to bring the baby chicks home on the coach.
Well done to everyone for the excellent behaviour of all the children and a big thankyou to our wonderful parent helpers.
