We have had a really busy term in team Hazel!
We have been doing lots of work on the chrome books using the 4C’s – Communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity.
We have used google slides to create different presentations. One of them has been about fronted adverbials.
We have also been busy practising our times tables using ‘Rock Star Maths’. Some of us are getting really whizzy, and are now learning our 12x table!
We enjoyed dressing up as different characters for World Book Day! Can you guess which character we came to school as?
This term we have been learning about the Anglo Saxons. Did you know that…
- The Anglo-Saxons are made up of three tribes who came to England from across the North Sea around the middle of the 5th century – the Angles, Saxons and Jutes.
- The Anglo-Saxon period covers about 600 years, and Anglo-Saxon kings ruled England for about 300 years.
- Some of our modern English words are from the Anglo-Saxons, such as the days of the week.
We have also been making Anglo Saxon jewellery in our art lessons.
In literacy, we read the story of Beowulf and Grendel. We wrote setting and character descriptions, and also created our own egg box monsters!
What a busy term!
