It’s been another fantastic year at Lakeside Primary where we have seen the school build on it’s success to become an academy and join the Ebor Academy Group in April.
The future for the school is full of excitement and opportunities for our staff, children and community.
This year has seen partnership flourish with the Vale of York Academy where many of our children have experienced a wide variety of activities from Food Tech, Humanities and the Voyage programme for Science and technology.
The curriculum has contained so many enriching experiences across the age ranges from the recent visit of 1/2 to Harlow Carr, residentials to Low Mill and Robinwood, Countryside Days, Dalby Forest trips and many visitors and speakers.
As always we are particularly proud of our sporting engagements, too numerous to mention but particular credit must be given to our Y3/4 North Yorkshire Golf Champions.
The children will all transition now to their new classes and schools in September and move on to new challenges and opportunities ahead.
We wish everyone in the Lakeside Community a very enjoyable summer break and ask everyone to reflect on the successes they’ve had this year, building on these into next year, wherever they are, to realise their potential.
Personally, this summer will be my last at Lakeside and I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to all the staff, parents and children over the last 15 years. It’s been emotional!
Happy Holidays everyone.
Remember Monday 3rd September is a training day and all children will return to school on Tuesday 4th September.
Children that are moving into year 3 will no longer get free school dinners and they will need to be paid for via parent pay.
Everybody needs to create a parent pay account using your username and password provided by school, regardless of what year your child is in. All payments are made to school via this and paying cash/cheque is no longer an option.
Subscribe to the website and you will receive notifications when a letter/newsletter is posted, guaranteeing that you will not miss out on any news.
We are really looking forward to seeing the new uniform make it’s debut in September and if you are going to make a purchase over the summer, this can be done via the website or at the shop in Elvington.
Volunteers and contributions
All Lakeside staff would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that enabled the recent trip to Harlow Carr to take place. Without this generosity from our parent/grandparent helpers we would not be able to provide such experiences.
We are very lucky at Lakeside to have wonderful volunteers that give their time to our school on a regular basis, whether this be in a classroom or on a school trip. This dedication is invaluable to the school and we thank you all.
Clifton Moor Church and Community Centre
Clifton Moor Church and Community Centre are celebrating their 20th birthday and would like you to celebrate with them.
On Saturday 1st September from 2pm – 6pm there will be family fun, including inflatables and crafts followed by entertainment from 6pm – 9pm.
There will be refreshments and a bring and share buffet from 5pm.
Lakeside is a nut-free school
Please can we remind you that there are several children in our school with serious nut allergies. Therefore, we kindly ask that you are extra vigilant when sending in food from home.
