Class structure 2018/19 – whole school
22nd June 2018
Dear Parents,
This has certainly been a very successful year for us at Lakeside Primary Academy; the structures, which have been established, have enabled the phases of the school to work closely together in creating exciting and engaging opportunities for the children across the curriculum. We have been fortunate to support this with some amazing visits and visitors, which couldn’t take place without your continued support.
We are pleased to say that, this structure and class organisation can be sustained into the next academic year.
Therefore, the class structure will be as follows:
EYFS/KS1
EYFS Class
Year EYFS/Y1 class
Year 1/2 class
Year 2 class
Lower KS2
Year 3 class
Year 3/4 class
Year 4 class
Upper KS2
Year 5 class
Year 5/6 class
Year 6 class
We are still in the final stages of organising staffing and allocating children to the ten classes. On the 4th July, you will be given information about which class your child will be in next year. During this day, the children will visit their new class.
As the children at Lakeside prepare to move on and continue their journeys in new classes or new schools, it is also time for me to say goodbye to Lakeside.
It is 16 years ago now that I first walked through the yellow doors as a newly qualified teacher, straight out of college. Over the years I have so many amazing memories of wonderful colleagues, children and families who have enriched my time here and made it truly special.
I am excited by the prospect of continuing my career in a different setting, as I take up a post at Braeburn Primary School in Scarborough, whilst at the same time being genuinely sad to be leaving such a special place as Lakeside.
Over the last few weeks, I have had regular contact with Mrs Hayes-Smith, who is eager to get started in her tenure as Headteacher of Lakeside, we have discussed plans and systems in order to ensure the continued growth of the school and its community.
In addition to this, Lakeside will be welcoming a new member of staff, Miss. Lizzie Bamford who will be arriving in the capacity of Assistant Headteacher to work as part of the leadership team. She is currently employed in another EBOR school and will start at Lakeside in the autumn term.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish both new arrivals well and finally to wish all the staff, children and parents at Lakeside a very fond farewell.
Yours sincerely
Mr Crabtree
