At Lakeside we have created The Rainbow Room. This is a space where children can come for some reflection time or a moment of calm on a busy day. It is also an area where individual or small group work can take place with internal staff or from external agencies.
The Rainbow room is about keeping our students safe and supported; helping them to learn how to emotionally regulate, learn coping strategies, anger management, respect (self and others), identity, belonging, relationships (appropriate and inappropriate), and so on. The activities conducted in The Rainbow Room are flexible, catering for each individual’s needs.
The Rainbow Room is an area that promotes: well being, self esteem, aspiration and understanding the values of the community to help us on our lifelong learning journey.
